Annie Duke may not have captured her first World Series of Poker Bracelet until ‘04 but she is still one of the most feared poker competitors at the live action games at The Bellagio in Las Vegas. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP bracelet came with a win at the "cast aside game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.

While players from the "younger generation" of poker go crazy after a huge win at the tournament, Annie goes home to be "mom" to her four kids. She was born in New Hampshire and raised into a family of poker competitors. If you don’t accept that, observe her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who coached her how to play the game.

However, Mrs. Duke is no small change girl and has won her share of challenging tables, which includes eliminating Howard a few times along the way. They’re both competitors that have the capability to acquire the big bucks and do so with a smile.

Annie Duke is a strong competitor at any table because she is a genuine poker player, but it is a little more than simply being strong at the game. Mrs. Duke is incredibly intelligent and graduated from Columbia University where she took a double major in English and Psychology.

When you take a seat across from her at the table you’ll see she is there to compete in the game and she begins "summing" you up from the time you sit down at the poker table. If you cannot gamble like a camp, then don’t waste your time.

Acquiring over $3 million in tournament play, Annie Duke branched out to become a adviser to both the UltimateBet website and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who was looking to hone his talents and become a power at the tables.

You might just see her at the Bellagio, you’ll definitely see Annie on the television and you might even participate against her in a web poker match, but don’t count on an easy win. Unless you are a champion-in-the-making, you will not beat her. However, it would be fun to mention you sat at the same table as "The Duke".
