Web poker has become world acclaimed as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, stretches back in reality a bit further than its TV scores. Over the years numerous variations on the first poker game have been created, including a few games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to blackjack than long-standing poker, in that the gamblers bet against the dealer rather than the other players. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no conniving or other types of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up prior to the croupier declares "No further bets." At that moment, both you and the house and of course all of the other players receive five cards. Once you have observed your hand and the casino’s initial card, you need to in turn make a call wager or surrender. The call wager’s amount is equal to your beginning wager, meaning that the risks will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your ante goes instantaneously to the house. After the wager comes the showdown. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, with an amount in accordance with the ante. If the dealer does have ace/king or greater, you win if your hand defeats the casino’s hand. The house pays out chips even with your ante and set expectations on your call bet. These odds are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for 2 pairs
- 3-1 for 3 of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a four of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
