Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker player on the globe by many of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching turning one. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn everything he possibly could about the game. He would tell his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the adverse feedback from others kill his goal of becoming one of the strongest poker competitors in the world.

He started playing seriously after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a teaching experience and winning wasn’t a common thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he made 2 final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he destroyed a number of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. He admits to making errors every single session of poker and constantly strives to improve.
