Howard Lederer lived in a family of five in which he enjoyed gambling on various card games when he was young. The real advancement in his game began when he started gambling at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the best players would often challenge each other. Howard had access into a few of the foremost players in chess. With their help, Howard Lederer would sharpen his strategic thinking abilities. Howard applied these strategy ideas to the game of No-Limit hold’em.
He also assisted his sister Annie Duke master poker. She was a great student of the game as she constantly asked questions about the right way to make the proper choice. Howard told Annie to move out to Sin City and play in the World Series of Poker competition. She is one of the greatest women players the poker world today. He relocated to Vegas in Nineteen Ninety Three and participated in money games for the successive decade. When the WPT gained popularity, Howard decided to play more tournaments.
