Gus Hansen enjoyed a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only one to make it to the final game in 3 of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might recall one of the largest pots in high stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen raked in a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has made many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the best players anywhere in the world. While participating in net poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. Gus often plays in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen frequently buys-in for the min of $16, 000 and gambles very poorly. He waits patiently for a good hand and then pushes all-in. I believe Hansen is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is broke, he has no reason to play at the table with the minimum buy-in.

Playing for the minimum takes a majority of the skill out of deep stack poker. Gus is presumed to be 1 of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy-in for the full amt.. I think tv can alter our perception of the real world sometimes. The greatest players anywhere in the world might just be guys you have never heard of before. Gus can be seen competing in net poker on Full Tilt. He commonly participates in big stakes omaha high and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his talents in money rounds?
